PC Sally Armstrong was an upbeat type of woman, very energetic, happy to help and muck in, and enjoyed a good laugh as much as the next joker. She worked to live and didn’t live to work – after all, as Sally would say: “You’re a long time dead.”

Sally had just completed her probation period at another station when she joined Sun Hill. Previous to joining the police, she worked as a team leader in a tele-marketing firm, but life behind a desk was not for her. She wanted a job that got her heart rate racing and something that would give her a real challenge in life. With an annual salary of £30k and a ton of fit guys in uniform, she quickly realised there were many perks to being a copper. As soon as training started she knew this was her calling in life: driving fast cars, leaping over walls and busting crims – and was ready to fully embrace her new career.

Passionate about policing, sometimes to the point of recklessness, Sally’s excitable nature meant that she often took cases to heart and got tempted to push the boundaries. In the past, Stone covered up her mistakes and tacitly approved some of her more maverick acts – but she never entirely comfortable with being in his debt. She left Sun Hill without explanation in December 2009.
